The Multimedia Encyclopedia of the Shoah includes more than 300 articles on the history of the destruction of the Jews of Europe. Each entry deals with one aspect of the Shoah and is illustrated by photographies, video testimonies, objects, animated or still maps, and individual life stories.
This exceptional data base was developed in cooperation with the USHMM in Washington and is regularly enriched with new articles dealing with the French specificities of the Shoah. Articles will soon be available on the anti-Semite legislation of the Vichy government, the fate of the Jews in the large cities of France, the institutions set up by the French State (U.G.I.F., C.G.G.J., and I.E.Q.J.) the trials of the collaborators, and French internment camps.
Other tools are presented with the encyclopedia: a comparative timeline, a summary of the key dates of the genocide, a glossary which can be accessed from links throughout the Shoah Memorial's website and a selection of reference texts.
