Everyday objects found at killing sites and in mass graves are proof of the irruption of genocide in daily life and provide information on the identity of the victims: combs, prayer books, rosaries, shoes. They also sometimes allow survivors to recognize the bodies of their loved ones in the places where they were murdered.
