We were attacked in the Brothers' house by Interahamwe led by Muhizina [the assistant burgomaster of the former commune of Butamwa, accused] We were discouraged and went out. But, out there, the Interahamwe were killing people with local weapons. People who weren’t killed that day fled into the marshes. In our group, we stayed at 3. We crossed the river. [... ] The families who had stayed here all died.
