Fragments of the report by Ivan Moffat, 4 May 1945, "Life in the Dachau Camp," read by Mathieu Amalric, Stevens Paper, Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences

Each day, in an image recording report, the person in charge of each unit makes a summary of the day’s activities. As a reminder, at the bottom of each page, under the heading IMPORTANT, the editor must: spell out names correctly, identify all people, places, organizations, weapons, and the equipment.

The narrative frame, the composition of the camera report, is more than just a summary. It is a document that contains the descriptions of events that have been filmed. This is from me, a second glance that rests on the images, after that of the cameramen.
Ivan Moffat, former Professor of the London School of Economics, is its principal and brilliant editor.

First Jewish religious office

Rabbi David Max Eichhorn was one of the first Jewish chaplains: to enter Dachau, the day after the camp’s liberation on 30 April 1945. He was a member of the XV Corps de l'Armée de terre. On May 5th, there was a religious service.
