As the time taken to grant a visa varies, the formalities must be undertaken as soon as possible. The coordinating teacher ensures before the day of departure that each student is in possession of the necessary documents to access the Polish and French territories. Any participant who is not in good standing may, under no circumstances, be admitted to boarding. In the case of a minor, an adult accompanying person must then accompany him to his parent’s residence.

Aviation and customs security measures
As part of the "vigipirate" plan in France and comparable measures taken in other countries, security checks have multiplied in France and Poland with regard to people as well as luggage. It is therefore important not to present oneself at the airport with any object that is cutting, blunt or capable of being used as a weapon (all types of knives, fork, scissors, cutter, compass...), nor any narcotic product. Clothing or objects showing physical or olfactory traces of narcotic products may give rise to additional police checks.
The organizers decline any responsibility in case of non-compliance with these rules, and encourage teachers to remind their students firmly before departure.
Indicative programme of the study tour to Auschwitz
Historians accompanying the Shoah Memorial supervise the group, alongside the teachers of each class.
A breakfast will be served on the outbound flight and a hot meal on the inbound flight. Packed lunches are given to each participant for lunch. Provide warm clothing and walking shoes adapted to the cold weather.
The Memorial has taken out repatriation insurance 'Europe Assistance' for this trip to Poland. It is necessary to take out school insurance for this outing in parallel. Teachers must be aware of any medical elements concerning their students (chronic pathology, asthma, diabetes...), and ensure that they have the appropriate treatments in sufficient quantity. Any particular situation must be indicated during the registration.
In order to better understand the meaning of the visit to the Auschwitz Museum and to better assess the extent of the crime committed by the Nazis, the Shoah Memorial strongly advises participating students to take stock of their knowledge before the day’s visit.
The Shoah Memorial website provides essential reminders and presents in a simple way the major stages of the Shoah. Students can thus consult:
