The approach
One-day study trips are organized for enrolled high schools in the Île-de-France region for 20 people per school (18 students and 2 teachers). The selected schools choose the most involved high school students by asking them to write a cover letter addressed to the educational team of the Memorial. The participating students are welcomed at the Shoah Memorial for a preparation of the study tour, then are invited to carry out a collective educational project in order to communicate their experience to their classmates.
The Shoah Memorial is responsible for organizing the trip logistically. Participation in the days of travel is free (transportation to the airport and possible visas are still at the participants' expense).
Registration Requirements
The Regional Council of Ile de France sends to the heads of establishments an awareness dossier on the history of the Shoah, including the registration form.
Participants must register with the Shoah Memorial before 22 September; they will be informed by email if their application is selected. Candidate institutions must be able to accept all dates, with a preferred option for one date.
