ARG II/388

Jewish theatres continued playing in 1940 and 1941 and in the beginning of 1942. The Eldorado opened in December 1940, in the building of the old Scala. The Nowy Azazel (New Hell) and the Melody Palace presented their repertoire exclusively in Yiddish. The Nowy Kameralny presented drama in Polish. The musicians of the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, the Opera and the Radio who were confined to the ghetto created the Jewish Symphony Orchestra and gave concerts in the Judaic library and in the Melody Palace hall.
