Educational projects

The preparatory work is a fundamental step before the study trip to Auschwitz.

It allows students to strengthen their knowledge of the historical mechanisms that led to the planned extermination of 5 to 6 million European Jews by Nazi Germany during World War II.

The Shoah Memorial website offers a series of documentary resources to which classes can refer :

  • - answers to frequently asked questions about the Holocaust
  • - video testimonies from survivors of the Auschwitz camp
  • - a reminder of the key dates of the 1939-1945 period
  • - the multimedia encyclopedia of the Shoah
  • - historical maps

The Shoah Memorial has also produced two brochures for students and teachers. He is at the disposal of educational teams to provide them with educational and historical support:

Travelling exhibitions

The Shoah Memorial offers two free travelling exhibitions to selected classes for a maximum duration of 7 days. Transport and insurance costs are the responsibility of the establishments.

- Words of stars. Memory of hidden children, 1939-1945, 2 formats: 33 panels 67.5 x 1.12 or 34 panels 0.90 x 1.49

- History of the Shoah in Europe, 44 panels 1.40 x 40 and 80 x 1.00.

Administrative formalities

It is imperative that all participants have a valid ID document to travel to Poland: an ID card or passport. Students and accompanying persons who are not nationals of a member country of the Schengen area must also bring their residence permit to French territory.
