The inauguration 2010-2011

Jean-Paul Huchon, President of the Regional Council, Elisabeth Gourevitch, Vice-President in charge of Lycées and educational policies and Jacques Fredj, director of the Shoah Memorial inaugurated on Monday, January 17, 2011, at the Regional Council of Île-de-France, the exhibition «Vision Lycéenne du camp d'Auschwitz Birkenau», eighth edition entirely designed by high school students from Ile-de-France.

This exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of former deportees who accompanied the study trips and all the students involved in the operation this year. On this occasion, students read poems that they had written for the creation of the display panel of their school.

In November and December 2010, 432 high school students and 90 apprentices went to Auschwitz as part of the awareness programme set up by the Shoah Memorial and the Region. Upon their return, they realized "High school vision of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp". This exhibition was inaugurated on January 17 in the presence of many young people and survivors. Each of these panels reflects the vision that the high school students drew from their visit to the camp.
