On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the camps, the Shoah Memorial pays tribute to the last survivors through a series of five unpublished video capsules directed by Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache.
Each film depicts the encounter between a young man and a survivor.
In these exchanges, Larissa Cain, Judith Elkán, Ginette Kolinka, Yvette Lévy and Léon Placek share their experiences of anti-Semitic persecution and deportation. By talking to young people, they offer an intimate and vivid transmission of their story.
Alongside the capsules, visitors are invited to discover the rich and essential personal archives of the last witnesses of the Holocaust.
This exhibition thus questions the evolution of memory and the indispensable transmission of this tragedy to the younger generations.
