For this 2024 fall, I invite you to visit at the Shoah Memorial the exhibitions Riss: the Papon trial and Music in the Nazi camps, as well as the new exhibitions Rwanda 1994: the genocide of the Tutsi (as part of the 30th commemoration) and Strangers in the Resistance in France (around the panthenisation of Missak Manouchian).
We are proud to also be able to offer several previews including La Zone d’intérêt, Grand Prix du Festival de Cannes 2023. Other previews as part of the exhibition Foreigners in the Resistance in France: the films of Elisabeth Van Zijll Langhout and Hugues Nancy on the place of foreigners facing Nazism in France; an unpublished episode of the series of France Culture LSD, the documentary series; or The Resistant and the Child of Jean Barat, which intertwines the testimony of a survivor of the Holocaust and that of her son. Love It Was Not, Best Documentary Award will also be screened at the Docaviv Festival in Tel Aviv.
As always, the Memorial welcomes the words of many survivors of the Shoah as essential as ever to transmit the history and memory of the Shoah. It also continues its work of education and awareness against all forms of hatred by taking part in the Week of Education and Action against Racism and Anti-Semitism.
The cycle History in the Present begins with two meetings that offer two perspectives of 1944, one with historians who offer an overview of this twilight year, and the other who looks at the correspondence of Hélène Berr and Odile Neuburger.
The Grands Rendez-vous in the auditorium explore literary and documentary news (with several previews not to be missed), as well as the history of Luxembourg in the Holocaust and World War II. As usual, young and old, individuals and groups, families and schools can take part in many trips, workshops, routes and visits.
To be noted at the Mémorial de la Shoah in Drancy, the exhibition Ginette Kolinka: itinerary of a survivor of Auschwitz which continues while the exhibition Paris 1924-2024: the Olympic Games, mirror of societies?
