Cookie management policy

update April 2019

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that can be placed on the user’s navigation device (computer, smartphone or tablet) when accessing an online service using a browser software.

In any case, cookies placed on the user’s navigation device with his or her consent are deleted 13 months after their deposit on the terminal.

What are the cookies issued on the Site used for?

Cookies issued are necessary to:

  • establishing the volume of traffic and use of the various components of the site (sections and content visited, routes), as well as statistics, in order to improve the interest and ergonomics of the services offered;
  • adapting the site’s presentation to Internet users' display preferences (display resolution, operating system used, etc.), depending on the hardware and software used for viewing or reading the different terminals;
  • the storage of information relating to a form completed by a web user on the site (registration or donation).

In addition, social media cookies may be generated when browsing the site, especially through sharing buttons that collect personal data.

How do I control the cookies used?

At any time, the user has the possibility to configure his browser software in order to allow or not the storage of cookies on his terminal. The rejection of cookies can be systematic or depending on the issuer. The configuration of the browser software also allows the user to choose an acceptance or a rejection of cookies, even before a cookie can be saved on his terminal.

Please note: the navigation on the site and the conditions of access to certain services requiring the use of cookies may be affected by a change in the settings. The MEMORIAL OF THE SHOAH declines all responsibility for the consequences of the inability to save or consult the cookies necessary for operation or that an internet user would have refused or deleted, resulting in the degraded functioning of the services.
