Cookie management policy

update April 2019

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that can be placed on an Internet user’s navigation terminal (computer, smartphone or tablet) when consulting an online service with browser software.

In any case, cookies placed on the user’s navigation terminal with their consent are deleted 13 months after being placed on the terminal.

What are the cookies issued on the Site used for?

The cookies issued are necessary to:

  • the establishment of the volumes of attendance and use of the various components of the site (sections and content visited, paths), as well as statistics, with the aim of improving the interest and ergonomics of the services offered;
  • the adaptation of the site’s presentation to Internet users' display preferences (display resolution, operating system used, etc.), depending on the hardware and software for viewing or reading the various terminals;
  • the storage of information relating to a form filled out by a user on the site (registration or donation).

In addition, social network cookies may be generated during navigation on the site, notably through sharing buttons that collect personal data.

How can you control the cookies used?

At any time, the user has the option to configure their browser software in order to allow or not the registration of cookies on their terminal. The rejection of cookies may be systematic or take place depending on the issuer. The configuration of the navigation software also allows the user to choose an acceptance or a refusal of occasional cookies, even before a cookie can be saved on their terminal.

Warning: navigation on the site and access conditions to certain services requiring the use of cookies may be affected by a change in settings. The MEMORIAL DE LA SHOAH declines any responsibility for the consequences of the impossibility of registering or consulting the cookies necessary to the operation or that a user would have refused or deleted, resulting in the degraded operation of the services.
