Educational projects of the year 2005-2006: the videos

The study trip to Auschwitz is an opportunity to shoot images of the camp and film the testimony of former deportees. Upon return, after editing work and the recording of audio comments, the films are screened at other classes or during meetings open to the public. They allow students to share their experience, and thus constitute an important medium for exchange and reflection.

In the footsteps of Eva Hellmann

In June 1942, a young high school student from Chartres was arrested after a baccalaureate exam because she was Jewish. More than 60 years later, students of Terminale L enrolled in the same school have reconstructed his journey and decided to pay tribute to him through a film simply titled Sur les traces d'Eva Hellmann.

In the footsteps of Marthe Lewinski

Near La Rochelle, in 1942, a young Jewish girl from Lorraine, Marthe Lewinski, was arrested with her parents and older sister. Interned at the camp in Poitiers, then transferred to Drancy, she was deported to Auschwitz by convoy No. 36 on September 23, 1942. The 9th-grade students of the Eglantine school in La Rochelle reconstructed his journey from testimonies and archival documents and made a film: On the tracks of Marthe Lewinski. On 8 May 2006, a plaque in memory of Marthe Lewinski was inaugurated at her former school.
