Pedagogical projects of the year 2008-2009: the videos

The study trip to Auschwitz is an opportunity to shoot images of the camp and film the testimony of former deportees. Upon return, after editing work and the recording of audio comments, the films are screened at other classes or during meetings open to the public. They allow students to share their experience, and thus constitute an important medium for exchange and reflection.

293 Jews stay in the Sarthe department at the port and outside Auschwitz and Sobibor. To prepare for the study trip, the l ves of Terminale L of high school in Le Mans Sud have reconstitu the journey of several victims, in particular the Suganas family, who stayed at Le Mans and murdered Auschwitz in 1942. Upon their return, they created an exhibition and a film Shoah, from the Sarthe Auschwitz, programmed by the local vision centre Angers 7 in June 2009.

Before leaving for Poland to cover the site of Auschwitz, the students from Terminale STAV of the agricultural high school Garcia Lorca de Th za, in the Eastern Pyres, studied the Nazi extermination policy and visited the former internment camp of Rivesaltes. After the study trip, they created a film and a booklet entitled De Rivesaltes Auschwitz, which are port-related. Based on the documents available at the Municipal Archives of Cholet, the lives of 1 re ES of the high school and Sainte Marie were studied the penetration and deportation of Jews from their city between 1940 and 1944. The results of their research are distributed on a blog: http://lewebpedagogique.com/biteau/tag/juifs/. By the way, a work is created from extracts of literary works and sketches of referrals. A repr sentation open to the public was organized in the establishment on May 18, 2009.

Auschwitz, the industry of death

After the trip of study Auschwitz, the lives of 1 re L from the high school Vuillaume de Mirecourt have created an exhibition on Primo Levi and a DVD, containing in particular the interview with a Righteous among the nations, France Giet, met his home one month before his disappearance. The work of the class took place on May 9, 2008 in the auditorium of the high school.
