Birth in Paris of the network of places of memory

A network of Holocaust remembrance sites in France, bringing together eleven institutions, was officially launched on Wednesday 23 March 2016 at the Ministry of Education and the Shoah Memorial to strengthen cooperation between its members and train young people “Ambassadors of memory”.

A declaration of principles was signed by all the partners, including Minister of Education Najat Vallaud-Belkacem and the Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence Jean-Marc Todeschini.

On this occasion, the historian and lawyer Serge Klarsfeld and the president of the Union of Auschwitz Deportees Raphaël Esrail spoke to a hundred participants in order to recall the meaning of commitment to democratic and republican values.
