Birth in Paris of the network of places of memory

A network of Holocaust remembrance sites in France, bringing together eleven institutions, was officially launched on Wednesday 23 March 2016 at the Ministry of National Education and the Shoah Memorial to strengthen cooperation among its members and train young "ambassadors of memory".

A declaration of principle was signed by all the partners, including Minister of National Education Najat Vallaud-Belkacem and the Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence Jean-Marc Todeschini.

On this occasion, the historian and lawyer Serge Klarsfeld and the president of the Union of Auschwitz deportees Raphaël Esrail notably intervened before a hundred participants in order to recall the sense of commitment to serve democratic and republican values.
