The Shoah Memorial is a foundation recognized as being of public utility. The Shoah Memorial works to disseminate and teach the history of the Holocaust to a wide range of audiences, including school children. He notably designs exhibitions within his institutions and outside, in France and abroad, and circulates travelling exhibitions.
The Memorial is in Europe the largest center for research, information and awareness on the history of the genocide of the Jews during the Second World War. It is a place of memory, pedagogy and transmission.
The arrival of new establishments today strengthens the national base of the Memorial and makes it possible to amplify the actions that are already carried out in the regions through our local branch in Toulouse, our nine correspondents in Grenoble, Lyon, Lille, and Strasbourg, and our activities outside the walls.
Acting everywhere in France also means reaching out to students and teachers within their schools throughout the country through educational activities that can be carried out on site – traveling exhibitions, workshops, screenings, meetings, etc. – to show everyone the consequences of racism and anti-Semitism based on the history of the Shoah and other genocides of the twentieth century.
