The SHOAH MEMORIAL is committed to respecting the privacy of Internet users accessing the Site. The purpose of the Data Management Policy is to allow the Internet user to become aware of the methods for processing their personal data throughout their navigation on the site and their rights in terms of respect for their private life and protection of their data at personal character.

As part of the management of the site, data is processed in compliance with the General Regulation on Data Protection 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 ("GDPR") and the law "Informatique et libertés" of 6 January 1978 modified and under the conditions set out below. WHO PROCESSES the data AND WHY?

The controller of personal data processed in connection with the website is the SHOAH MEMORIAL.

A special feature concerns personal data collected by clicking on partners' icons or social networks such as Facebook or Twitter. In this case, the controller is the third party whose site or social network is consulted.

During the navigation of internet users on the site, data concerning them may be collected. None of the data will be collected without the knowledge of internet users. The data are only collected for the following specified, explicit and legitimate purposes:

  • Inform about the news of the SHOAH MEMORIAL,
  • Manage donations,
  • Manage the questions asked on the site,
  • Manage candidates in job search,
  • Maintain and optimize the site in order to verify/improve the quality of service, the availability and performance of the service, resolve any problems or anomalies of operation, and secure the site against fraud.

This data may be shared with third-party subcontractors assisting the SHOAH MEMORIAL in its missions.

WHERE IS THE DATA AND HOW MUCH TIME DO WE KEEP IT?

The data is located in France and possibly in the European Union. If, on an ad hoc basis, the data is located in a country outside the European Union, the recipient guarantees an adequate level of protection regarding the processing of data in accordance with data protection regulations.

The data is kept for a period not exceeding the necessary duration. As soon as a piece of data no longer serves the purpose for which it was collected, it is either destroyed or archived to establish proof of a right or contract.

WHAT IS THE COOKIE USE POLICY?

The site can automatically collect information that will only be used to track the volume, type and configuration of traffic, to develop its design and layout, for other administrative and planning purposes and more generally to improve offered by the site.

WHAT ARE the rights of Internet users AND HOW TO EXERCISE them?

In accordance with data protection regulations, internet users have rights over their personal data. Thus, under the conditions and limits laid down by the regulations on data protection and after having justified their identity (for example by sending a copy of their identity card):
– Internet users have the right to request access to, rectification or erasure of their data.
– Internet users have the right to decide the post-mortem fate of their data as well as to obtain the erasure as soon as possible of data collected while they were minors at the time of collection;
– Internet users also have the right to object to data processing, to limit it.

Moreover, it is possible to unsubscribe from news at any time on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email. It is also possible to unsubscribe by sending a message to the following address webmestre@memorialdelashoah.org with the subject "UNSUBSCRIBE".

If the consent for the processing of personal data has already been given, it may be withdrawn at any time, without this affecting the lawfulness of the processing before the withdrawal.
