From history to memory
For students in CM1 and CM2, Paris
This course offers a reflection on the construction of collective memory. At the Memorial, students first discover the exclusion of Jews from France through the fate of the Jacob family. They also discover the work of memory, favored by Simone Veil at the Foundation for the Memory of the Shoah, by valuing the Just among the nations. The visit of the Pantheon, temple of the Great Men and Women, allows to illuminate this slow and complex recognition, by recalling the values and the founding principles of the nation, from the Revolution to our days.
