Cookie management policy

update April 2019

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that may be stored on an Internet user’s navigation terminal (computer, smartphone or tablet) when consulting an online service with a browser software.

In any case, cookies deposited on the browser’s terminal with the user’s consent are deleted 13 months after their deposit on the terminal.

What are the cookies issued on the Site used for?

The cookies issued are necessary to:

  • the establishment of traffic volumes and use of various components of the site (sections and contents visited, routes), as well as statistics, in order to improve the interest and ergonomics of the services offered;
  • the adaptation of the presentation of the site to the display preferences of Internet users (display resolution, operating system used, etc.), according to the hardware and software for viewing or reading different terminals;
  • the memorization of information related to a form filled out by an internet user on the site (registration or donation).

Furthermore, social network cookies may be generated during navigation on the site, in particular through sharing buttons that collect personal data.

How to control the cookies used?

At any time, the internet user has the possibility to configure his/her browser software in order to allow or not the registration of cookies on their terminal. The rejection of cookies can be systematic or be done depending on the issuer. The configuration of the navigation software also allows the user to choose an acceptance or rejection of occasional cookies, even before a cookie can be saved on their terminal.

Attention: navigation on the site and access conditions to certain services requiring the use of cookies may be affected by a change in settings. The MEMORIAL OF THE SHOAH declines any responsibility for the consequences of the impossibility to save or consult cookies necessary for the functioning or that an internet user would have refused or deleted, resulting in the degraded operation of services.

How to configure your navigation software?
