The Shoah Memorial is pleased to announce the 8th edition of the University for Italian Language Teachers, "Thinking and Teaching the Shoah," a permanent seminar dedicated to the history and teaching of the Shoah that is open to Italian language teachers, with the patronage of MIUR (Ministry of Education, University and Research) and the support of the Legislative Assembly of the Emilia-Romagna Region.

Designed as a high-level training bringing a new perspective and modern thinking as well as a better historical knowledge of the genocide of European Jews under National Socialism, this seminar open to 30 participants takes place every year in Paris, in the premises of the Shoah Memorial.
Particular attention is paid to the most recent historiography of the Shoah and to the latest research on the persecution of Italian Jews under fascism, with a comparative approach.
Through numerous conferences delivered by the best European historians and specialists, key issues related to the political and cultural process that prepared the soil of the Holocaust will be addressed. Although focused on history and historiography, the program of the seminar will be punctuated by educational sessions and moments of reflection on issues of memory and concerning the transmission of history to younger generations. Guided tours of the Museum of Art and History of Judaism and the Drancy Memorial enrich this program.
