The Shoah Memorial is pleased to announce the 8th edition of the University for Italian-language teachers, "Thinking and teaching the Shoah", a permanent seminar dedicated to the history and teaching of the Shoah which is open to Italian-language teachers, with the patronage of MIUR (Ministry of Education, University and Research) and the support of the Legislative Assembly of the Emilia-Romagna Region.
Designed as a high-level training bringing a new perspective and modern reflection as well as a better historical knowledge of the genocide of the Jews of Europe under National Socialism, this seminar open to 30 participants takes place every year in Paris, in the premises of the Shoah Memorial.
Particular attention is paid to the most recent historiography of the Holocaust and to the latest research on the persecution of Italian Jews under fascism, with a comparative approach.
Through numerous conferences delivered by the best European historians and specialists, key questions related to the political and cultural process that prepared the soil of the Shoah will be addressed. Although focused on history and historiography, the seminar program will be punctuated by pedagogical sessions and moments of reflection on memory issues and concerning the transmission of history to young generations. Guided tours of the Museum of Art and History of Judaism and the Drancy Memorial enrich this program.

Limited number of places (30 participants maximum).
This seminar takes place at the Mémorial de la Shoah, 17, rue Geoffroy-l'Asnier, 75004 Paris and it is open to all teachers of Italian language (priority for history-geography and letters-philosophy teachers) and to those in charge of museums, memorials, places of memory, cultural associations and research institutes, provided that they justify a professional investment in the transmission of memory and the teaching of the history of the Shoah.
The Memorial takes care of the scientific and technical organization of the seminar, simultaneous translation and meals indicated in the program.
Participants will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs. A list of hotels at preferential rates will be sent to the trainees.

The Shoah Memorial is composed of the octave of the University for the Italian Language “Letters and Symbols of the Holocaust”, a permanent workshop on the training of the history and philosophy of the Shoah that includes some Italians, stable shares at MIUR Ministero dell'Illy, dell'Universita e della Ricerca e col<ano dell'Assecion vernacultura della Regione Emilia-Romagna.

Currently being offered a volunteer service at the school or private party, as well as a personal and professional one, in which the student’s character, his/her personality, his/her cultural background, his/her personal life, his/her cultural background, aven to take a seat at the Shoah i want to see the history and memory of the Holocaust. One hundred thousand will be spent on the MIUR among the various geographical locations, and the five hundred will be spent directly on the Memorial, with a view to the Region of Emilia-Romagna.
