Two voices from Belgrade

Around the publication of Psalm 44, followed by Danilo Kiš’s La Mansarde, translated from Serbo-Croatian by Pascale Delpech, ed. Fayard 2017, and La Maison des souvenirs et de l'oubli by Filip David, translated from Serbian by Alain Cappon, ed. Viviane Hamy 2017.
Two voices marked by the Holocaust, those of Danilo Kiš (Vojvodina 1935-Paris 1989) and Filip David (Serbia 1940). At the age of 25, D. Kiš writes in three weeks a striking story where the precision and radicality of his writing are already announced. In La Maison des souvenirs et de l'oubli, F. David stages four survivors of the Holocaust from the former Yugoslavia who meet at a conference in New York.
