The International Day dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Holocaust will take place on 26 January 2017 at UNESCO House in Paris, in partnership with the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum and the Shoah Memorial.

How to deconstruct hate speech?

The UNESCO Campus is part of a series of thematic conferences organized by UNESCO, in partnership with ENGIE. It aims to educate young people about current challenges in terms of society, education and the environment, so as to help them become responsible citizens.

Official opening of the exhibition Archeologia at the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum

The exhibition will be presented from January 26 to February 17, 2017 from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5:30 pm. Please bring an ID card.

The exhibition presents a selection of personal objects discovered in 1967 during archaeological excavations carried out in the area of the gas chambers and Crematorium III of the Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau. The excavations then revealed 16,000 objects of this type. These are the last personal items of the victims before their killing. These were lost for nearly half a century and recently found by the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, stored in 48 boxes at the Polish Academy of Sciences. This exhibition is the first presentation outside the Museum of this precious and unique collection of lost artifacts.
