Tuesday, 01 April 2025 Sunday, 31 August 2025

Madam, Sir,

The Shoah Memorial is delighted to present its cultural program for April-August 2025, supported by four exhibitions: Auschwitz-Birkenau seen by Raymond Depardon (an unpublished exhibition); How the Nazis photographed their crimes. Auschwitz 1944; The Immortals; and The Genocide of the Armenians of the Ottoman Empire, which marks its 110th anniversary this year.

The cycle History in the present marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the camps and the return of the deportees, notably with the valuable testimonies of six survivors, while an international symposium focuses on the epicenter of the destruction of the Jews of Europe: Sonderkommando, Arbeitsjuden, "Death Brigades".

We are putting the seventh art in the spotlight with the continuation of the 80-year cycle of films on the Holocaust and the annual open-air cinema screenings in August.

Le Mémorial invites you to the major events in the auditorium, including a series of documentary films by Jérôme Prieur as well as several premieres, including the documentary Do You Know What Day It Is Today?  and the movie Mariana’s Room.

The Memorial hosts a reading by actor Mathieu Amalric of La Trêve by Primo Levi as part of the European Night of Museums, an exhibition dedicated to director Chantal Akererman on the occasion of the Nuit blanche, and the bands Chenji & KaeL and the Marx Sisters for the Fête de la musique.

We commemorate, through official ceremonies and special meetings, the genocide of the Tutsi in Rwanda, the Warsaw ghetto uprising, the National Day of Resistance, and the Vel d'Hiv roundup.

During our 6th edition of the Book Fair, you can participate in exceptional meetings, signatures and readings, and enjoy an open-air sale.

At the Shoah Memorial in Drancy opens Blue / Night. Art after the camps. An exhibition of the work of Shelomo Selinger.  Les Rendez-vous de Drancy is a literary event, hosting screenings (don’t miss Ciné Drancy in July), and showcasing testimonies from survivors of the Holocaust and the genocide of the Tutsi. A concert and an exceptional opening mark the European Night of Museums, while the Nuit blanche gives pride of place to storytelling, live drawing and sound creation.

We hope that you will fully take part in this rich program of the Memorial designed to raise awareness about the importance of preserving and transmitting the history of the Shoah.
