The library’s inventories

Documents, books, newspapers, periodicals, books of remembrance, testimonies, books in French, in Hebrew, in Yiddish, in German: all the inventories of the library of the Centre for Contemporary Jewish Documentation are offered to the public for download. Prepare your visit.

The library at the documentation center of the Shoah Memorial makes various inventories available to readers in the reading room:

  • Newspapers and periodicals available on site
  • Books of Remembrance for Missing Communities / Yizker Bikher (יזכר ביכער) available on site
  • Recent acquisitions
  • Press reviews and press clippings reviews available on site
  • Digital newspaper inventory catalogues
  • An inventory of testimonies and war stories (1940s)

  • A catalogue inventory of the periodicals in the EEIF fund
  • And on specific request: works in Hebrew and Yiddish (which can be made available to readers within ten days)

Inventory of press reviews and press clipping reviews

These press reviews were developed for and by the Shoah Memorial around the various cultural events of the Shoah Memorial.
The reviews of press clippings are largely made up by the Shoah Memorial Library and concern various subjects.

The library of the Shoah Memorial has also compiled an inventory of various newspapers and periodicals in the German language. This non-exhaustive inventory of the collections of the Shoah Memorial includes a brief description of the orientation of these newspapers and periodicals.

This inventory was developed by SUDOC (University Documentation System). The notices were made from data provided by the Shoah Memorial Library. It does not cover the completeness of the library fonds.

The library of the Shoah Memorial has digitized a series of war stories and testimonies in French published between 1940 and 1950. These digitized books are available and can be consulted on a computer in the reading room only.

Since 2021, the Library of the Shoah Memorial has been processing a collection of Jewish Scouts of France (monographs and periodicals).

This fund will be open for consultation during 2023. The monographs are indicated via the documentary portal.

How to consult the documents indicated in these inventories?

Online inventories

For any document order please address your request to bibliotheque@memorialdelashoah.org specifying the type of document desired:

  • Press reviews or press clipping reviews:
    Title of the press review or press clippings, box number, inventory number.
  • German-language periodicals:
    Title of the periodical, Date and/or Number of the periodical.
  • Yizker Bikher / Books of remembrance:
    Place name, Book of Remembrance reference (or Yizker Bukh)
  • Inventory of periodicals conducted by SUDOC:
    Title of the periodical, Date and/or Number of the periodical.
  • The digitized newspapers in French are available for consultation in the reading room, on a computer station

Order of works in Hebrew and Yiddish:

  • You can order them by writing to bibliotheque@memorialdelashoah.org or to salledelecture@memorialdelashoah.org specifying the author, the title, the edition of the desired document as well as (indispensable) the reference of the series and the document number.
  • You can order them on site in the reading room by specifying the author, the title, the edition of the desired document, as well as (essential) the series reference and the document number.
  • Deadline for availability: 10 days
