Encyclopedia of the Shoah

The multimedia encyclopedia of the Shoah gathers more than 300 articles on the history of the destruction of the Jews of Europe. Each entry, which deals with an aspect of the Shoah, is illustrated by photos, video testimonies, objects, maps (animated or fixed), and individual fates.

Produced in partnership with the Washington Holocaust Memorial Museum, L'encyclopédie multimédia de la Shoah is regularly enriched by new articles dealing with the French specificity of the Shoah.

The anti-Semitic legislation of the Vichy government, the fate of the Jews in the major cities of France, the institutions set up by the French state (U.G.I.F., C.G.Q.J., I.E.Q.J.), the trials of collaborators, the French internment camps, are among the items available soon.

Several tools complete this exceptional database: A comparative chronology, a summary of the key dates of the genocide, a glossary, accessible from all screens of the Shoah Memorial site, and a selection of reference texts.
