Commemoration of the 79th anniversary of the Warsaw ghetto uprising
Tuesday 19 April 2022 at 6 p.m.
As every year, Crif, through its Remembrance Commission, and the Shoah Memorial organize the commemoration of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
Marek Edelman, one of the few survivors of the Warsaw Ghetto said: "By rising up, we reminded ourselves to belong to the human race. By taking up arms against those who wanted to annihilate us, we clung to life and became free men.”
The commemoration of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising pays double homage: the first, to the Jewish resistance, to its fighters who did not see the victory of the Allies, and the second to all the victims of the Holocaust who did not have the means to take up arms; to all the vulnerable, including the one and a half million missing children.
The 79th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising will be broadcast live on the website as well as on the Shoah Memorial’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
In partnership with Le Crif
