Discover the educational project "Rethink"

The RETHINK project (Remembrance Education for THINKing critically) aims to facilitate the dissemination of educational programs that promote tolerance and respect for diversity, while developing critical thinking and media literacy.

Initially, the project will give birth to a database gathering these educational approaches, implemented by memorial institutions and NGOs. An e-learning platform including innovative teaching materials, based on memory education programmes and adapted to the school environment will then be created.

The aim of this project is above all to support inclusive education by offering educators innovative tools allowing them to deconstruct prejudices, strengthen students' understanding of themes such as identity and polarization and develop their critical thinking and media literacy ("media litteracy").

The project is funded by the Erasmus+ program and includes 8 partners:

  • The CIEP (France), which coordinates the project and is affiliated with the Ministry of National Education
  • Euroclio (Netherlands), the European association of history teachers
  • The CESIE (Italy), a European centre for studies and initiatives
  • 4 memorial institutions and one NGO: Kazerne Dossin (Belgium), the Wannsee Conference House (Germany), the Living History Forum (Sweden), the Center for Democracy and Reconciliation in Southeast Europe (Greece) and the Shoah Memorial (Paris).
