Dialogue between Italian, Croatian and Slovenian teachers

René Moerhle, University of Tier
For the first time, Croatian, Slovenian and Italian teachers gathered under the aegis of the Shoah Memorial, in order to discuss genocidal policies against Jewish communities and the difficult war exit of the northern Adriatic which continues to fuel tensions in this region.
From 3 to 6 July 2018, 45 teachers selected by the Italian Ministry of Education and the Croatian and Slovenian Agencies for Training discussed at the Museum of Contemporary History in Ljubljana with Dieter Pohl, Johann Chapoutot and René Moerhle on what divides them and on the current pedagogical issues that bring them together. The meeting was opened by the Slovenian ambassador for human rights and the ambassador of France. This transnational dialogue is unprecedented and constitutes the first step in a sustainable process, supported by the Europe for Citizens Programme and the Wansee Conference House.
