On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the Shoah Memorial offers its visitors and the curious to discover the treasures of the family heritage, through a presentation of objects and documents, a meeting and a workshop. This day will also be the opportunity to return to the traces of the ancient Jewish presence in the Marais as part of a unique visit to the heart of the neighborhood.

Through the presentation of objects, photographs and documents preserved at the Shoah Memorial, the meeting proposes to return in detail to the exhibition The Jew and France, inaugurated on September 5, 1941 at the Palais Berlitz in Paris, by Paul Sézille, secretary general of the Institute of Studies on Jewish Questions. It will also discuss the place occupied by this demonstration in the context of the largest anti-Semitic propaganda offensive led by the occupier in spring 1941.

The Drancy Shoah Memorial and the Cercil – Memorial Museum of the Children of the Vel d'Hiv' in Orleans offer you a coupled visit around the first major raids of 1941 and the role of the internment camps of Drancy, Pithiviers and Beaune-la-Rolande in the internment and deportation of the Jews of France.
9 am: meeting in front of the Paris Memorial. Departure by bus for the Drancy Memorial.
10 am: thematic visit of the Drancy Memorial.
12 pm: lunch on site (plan a picnic).
1 PM: departure for the Cercil in Orleans.
3 PM: visit of the Cercil – Memorial Museum of the Children of the Vel d'Hiv’.
17 h: departure. Return scheduled in Paris for 19 h.
