Ceremonies in memory of the deportees of convoy no. 1 (27 March 1942)

Organized by the Shoah Memorial and the Association of the Sons and Daughters of the Jewish Deportees of France, with support from the Foundation for the Memory of the Shoah.
Meeting at the Shoah Memorial, rue Geoffroy l'Asnier) at 10:45 am to take the shuttle towards the Drancy Shoah Memorial.
→ 12:00: Ceremony
Location: cité de la Muette, avenue Jean-Jaurès 93700 Drancy
Serge Klarsfeld will speak. Wreath laying. Reading of the first 500 names. Kaddish. A minute of silence.
→ 1 p.m.: Departure for Compiègne
Place: Memorial of the internment and deportation of the camp of Royallieu, 2, avenue des Martyrsde- la-Liberté 60200 Compiègne.
→ 14:15: Estimated arrival at the station of Margny-lès-Compiègne. Reception by the authorities. Laying wreaths in front of the plaque in tribute to the deportees from the first convoy. A minute’s silence. Laying wreaths in front of the Memorial des déportés at Margny-lès-Compiègne station. A minute of silence. Departure for the Memorial of the Royallieu-Compiègne internment camp.
→ 2:55 pm: Estimated arrival at the Royallieu-Compiègne internment camp Memorial.
→ 3 p.m.: Beginning of the ceremony. Speech by the Mayor of Compiègne or his representative. Allocation from Serge Klarsfeld. Laying of wreaths. Reading of 500 names of the deportees from the first convoy. Kaddish. A minute of silence. End of the ceremony around 16.00.
Departure of the group around 16.30-45. Return to Paris at the Shoah Memorial, arrival around 6:30 p.m.
