On the eve of World War II, 90,000 Jews lived in Tunisia. On November 9, 1942, the Nazis invaded the country. They organize raids, the most important of which takes place in Tunis. In total, nearly 5,000 Jews were sent to forced labor in 32 camps scattered throughout the country. From April 1943 began the first deportations to camps in Europe.
