MOSAIK KLEZMER

"Voices of the Diasporas" is a musical and poetic show which traces the history of diasporas. During their many travels, these communities have been open to intercultural exchanges and permeable to the musical practices of their host countries while preserving a large part of their identities and traditions.
This show will then be followed by an interlude of Klezmer music.

Hélios Azoulay is undoubtedly the most elusive musician and showman of his generation. And if we sometimes compare him to Chaplin, Lucchini, Erik Satie or Marcel Duchamp, it is because he is one of those rare people who do not let himself be enclosed in a frame. However, this whimsical part of his character cannot hide a work with deep resonances.

A true passeur, for the past 10 years Hélios Azoulay and his "Ensemble de musique inciteeth" have been performing music composed in Nazi camps, thus working to bring back to life and pass on a deeply moving repertoire. Today, after two records (... even at Auschwitz; Sauvée des cendres) and a book (L'enfer aussi a son orchestre), he draws inspiration from the tragedy of the Voyageurs to reveal a forgotten part of our history.
