The history of the Holocaust in Denmark represents an exception in European history. The majority of Danish Jews managed to escape to Sweden with the help of the Danish Resistance and a few thousand Danish citizens, but also thanks to their own initiative. In total, 99% of the Jewish population survived. J. E. Glickman, an American photographer, pays tribute to this rescue through photographs taken in the 1990s of the places of departure and the actors involved in the evacuation of Danish Jews to Sweden.
