Facing the occupier, the commitment of women in the Resistance

© Shoah Memorial

The commitment to the Resistance was the choice of men and women from the summer of 1940. But the latter have long been relegated to the shadows, and their role little known or underestimated. Responsible for essential tasks such as intelligence, liaison or the transport of weapons and explosives, they were major cogs in the Resistance. But these missions, less visible, were overshadowed by the combatant dimension of the Resistance, which was almost exclusively carried out by men.
