The Centre de documentation juive contemporaine (CDJC) was created in April 1943 in Grenoble at the initiative of Isaac Schneersohn. Founder of a historiography, first archive on the genocide accessible to researchers and the public, place of memory of the Jews of France, the CDJC is today confused with the memory of the Shoah of which it is one of the most important depositories. The exhibition traces the history of this place of memory from its founding in hiding until the inauguration of the Shoah Memorial in 2005.
