The Centre for Contemporary Jewish Documentation (CDJC) was created in Grenoble in April 1943 at the initiative of Isaac Schneersohn. Founder of a historiography, the first archive centre on genocide accessible to researchers and the public, place of memory of the Jews of France, the CDJC is today confused with the memory of the Shoah of which it is one of the most important repositories. The exhibition traces the history of this place of memory from its founding in clandestinity until the inauguration of the Shoah Memorial in 2005.
