By glorifying the body of athletes, totalitarian and authoritarian regimes make sports venues for the recruitment of populations, a field for ideological propaganda and an instrument at the service of aggressive diplomacy. At the same time, sport asserts a new face and becomes a space of emancipation and resistance to Nazism.
