From October 1940 to May 1946, nearly 6,700 people, mostly French, including a large number of children, were interned in more than thirty camps for nomads located throughout the metropolitan territory. With this exhibition, the Shoah Memorial offers a comprehensive perspective on the policy conducted by France between 1939 and 1946 towards those whom the French law designated under the term Nomads.
