Two women, Félicité and Stella, meet. One experienced the Tutsi genocide in Rwanda, the other, the Jewish genocide. When Félicité speaks to Stella for the first time, she thinks she is lost and claims that she doesn’t remember anything. That she is just looking for the house of the Hydrangeas, a house for former deportees where she was hired as a cook. Stella also has her own memory, that of her brother, Yenkel, who died in the musicians' block and whose Yiddish melody she often hears. No competition between the genocides, but a link between them: The Living.
