Save the books. The Paper Brigade tells the story of the struggle for the preservation of culture in the face of its destruction by the Nazis. From September 1941 to September 1943, 40 Jewish intellectuals locked in the ghetto of Vilna (Vilnius) were forced to participate in the destruction and spoliation of Jewish and non-Jewish cultural treasures. At the risk of their lives, they manage to conceal and save some of the most valuable collections of Jewish culture and life.
