To rebuild democratically, Germany must judge the Nazi criminals. Fritz Bauer, Attorney General of the young Republic, is convinced. Despite the opposition and controversies, he initiated a number of trials, the most famous being that of Auschwitz, which took place in Frankfurt. While the RFA faces for the first time the demons of its history, young Germans discover the crimes of their parents.
