On 28 April 1945, thousands of concentration camp prisoners landed in the port of Malmö (Sweden). In the archive images, they are just anonymous faces in the middle of a crowd of refugees. But each one has a name. Everyone has a story to tell. The director met up with Elsie, Bernard, Nurit, Piotr, Philipp, Anita and many other survivors. They tell their lives, those of their family members or friends who have arrived to make a new start.

The film A Name for a Face will be presented for the first time in France in its original version with French subtitles on 27 November 2016 at the Shoah Memorial.

Beyond the film, the project «Every face has a name» aims to identify the people who appear on the archive films of the arrival by boat in Malmö of the survivors of the Holocaust.
