Since the 1960s, comics have gained significant recognition among institutions, whether museums or academies. Yet it has long been classified as a 'bad genre', like science fiction and thrillers. How did the comic strip pass from the status of 'popular' if not 'vulgar' literature to that of 9th art? Did she have to go through it so that the Holocaust could be addressed in her pages?
