Known as "The Persecuted", the series of portraits of the Jews of Cologne was created by August Sander in the late 1930s. But what do we really know about the daily situation of German Jews under the National Socialist regime? What is the chronology of the waves of emigration? And among those who stayed, how did they choose to testify?
