Clandestine images
Sunday, February 05, 2017 at 2:30 PM
On the occasion of the publication of Images clandestines. Metamorphoses d'une mémoire visuelle des « camps », by Ophir Lévy, ed. Hermann, 2016.

Alphaville, 1965, by Jean-Luc Godard. DR.
Since the early 1960s, archive images and visual motifs related to concentration camps and genocide have appeared in films that have no connection with the Second World War: science fiction, television series, art house cinema, costume, experimental cinema... Of which memory and which discourses are these clandestine images the vehicles? This meeting is punctuated by the projection of excerpts.
In the presence of the author and Jean-Loup Bourget, professor of film studies, École normale supérieure, Paris.
