The German War is the history of the Second World War as experienced by the Germans. Mixing personal letters, reports of the secret police, reports from the Ministry of Propaganda of Goebbels and other sources, this work shows what the Germans knew about the conduct of the war, what they thought about it, and how the regime strived to follow the moods of the population, adapting its message and policy accordingly.
