The German War is the history of the Second World War as experienced by the Germans. Combining personal letters, secret police reports, accounts from the Propaganda Ministry of Goebbels and other sources, this work shows what the Germans knew about the conduct of war, what they thought, and how the regime strived to follow the moods of the population, adapting its message and policy accordingly.
