The Memorial of Judeo-Spaniards deported from France writes the history of this community, which originated in the former Ottoman Empire and has preserved the Spanish language since its expulsion from Spain in the 15th century. Arrived at the end of the 19th century in France, they are nearly 35,000 to live there in 1939.
5,300 are deported, very few return. The book transcribes this story and records all the names of the Judeo-Spanish deportees from France.
