The graphic novel: privileged place of memorial discourse?

Since Will Eisner’s A Pact with God (1978) and Art Spiegelman’s Maus (1980), the graphic novel has become a genre in its own right in contemporary comics. Dedicated to autofiction, notably since Marjane Satrapi’s Persepolis, it is increasingly the place of a memorial speech.
