The graphic novel: a privileged place for memorial discourse?

Since Will Eisner’s A Pact with God (1978) and Art Spiegelman’s Maus (1980), the graphic novel has become an integral part of contemporary comics. Dedicated to autofiction, especially since Marjane Satrapi’s Persepolis, it is increasingly the place of a memorial speech.
