Literary explorations, discover the next appointments of the Shoah Memorial

Steeped in literary narratives, these journeys invite the discovery of individual itineraries and question, in a new way, the history and memories of Paris' neighborhoods.

In search of Perec: the child of Belleville

by David Feinermann, national guide-speaker

Understanding Georges Perec is an attempt to decipher a writing imbued with mystery, playing with constraints, and one of the most singular works in world literature. It is also exploring the "other places" of this son of Polish Jewish immigrants who loved to roam Paris. Two separate visits, one around the park of Belleville, the other in the district of Père-Lachaise, allow to reconstruct the "Perec puzzle".

This walk takes place on the outskirts of Vilin Street and around Belleville Park.

Another walk "A la recherche de Perec: l'héritage perecquien" explores the surroundings of the Père-Lachaise cemetery.  These two walks allow to reconstruct the "Perec puzzle".

This route requires good physical condition. It is not essential to register for both visits.

Duration: 2 h 30.
