Literary explorations, discover the next events at the Shoah Memorial

Steeped in literary narratives, these journeys invite the discovery of individual itineraries and question, in a new way, the history and memories of Paris' neighborhoods.

In search of Perec: the child of Belleville

by David Feinermann, national tour guide

Understanding Georges Perec is an attempt to decipher a writing imbued with mystery, playing with constraints, and one of the most singular works in world literature. It is also about exploring the "other places" of this son of Polish Jewish immigrants who liked to survey Paris. Two separate visits, one around the park of Belleville, the other in the district of Père-Lachaise, allow to reconstitute the "Perec puzzle".

This walk takes place on the outskirts of Vilin Street and around Belleville Park.

Another walk "A la recherche de Perec: l'héritage perecquien" explores the surroundings of the Père-Lachaise cemetery.  These two walks allow us to piece together the "Perec puzzle".

This course requires good physical condition. It is not necessary to register for both tours.

Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes.
