The APHG Days in Amiens

On Saturday, October 22, 2016, the Memorial will participate in the Festival of History and Geography – Amiens 2016, at the House of Culture – Espace Dewailly-Coliseum

For the first time, Amiens will host the National Days of History and Geography. The Saturday book fair, on which the Memorial will have its stand, will be open to everyone free of charge.

To see also: exhibitions, animations, dedications, a market of regional producers, dozens of conferences... around the themes of wars in History and agriculture in Geography. A festival labeled by the Mission du centenaire de la Première Guerre mondiale.

The appointments not to be missed:

  • A screening-debate of the documentary Views of the Baie de Somme produced by Jean-Jacques Dubois Friday, October 21, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. (Dewailly space) in the presence of the director and the mayor of Abbeville Nicolas Dumont and the geographer Emile Flament.
    Free entry subject to availability.
  • Two conferences on "the occupied Somme", in partnership with the Historial de la Grande Guerre of Péronne, conducted by historians Gerd Krumeich and Philippe Nivet on Friday 21 October 2016 at 7:00 pm (Hôtel des Feuillants). Free entry subject to availability.
  • A "cinema cycle" from Wednesday 19 October 2016 to Tuesday 25 October 2016 at the Maison de la culture d'Amiens dedicated to the memory of the Occupation. Screening-debate for a fee on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 7:00 pm. Free conference on the theme of the screening on Saturday 22 October 2016 (Orson Welles cinema).
