The Days of the APHG of Amiens

On Saturday, October 22, 2016, the Memorial will participate in the Festival of History and Geography – Amiens 2016, at the Maison de la Culture – Espace Dewailly-Coliseum

For the first time, Amiens will host the National Days of History and Geography. The Saturday book fair, on which the Memorial will have its stand, will be open to all for free.

Also to see: exhibitions, animations, dedications, a market of regional producers, dozens of conferences... around the themes of wars in History and agriculture in Geography. A festival labeled by the Mission of the Centenary of the First World War.

The appointments not to be missed:

  • A screening-debate of the documentary Views of the Bay of Somme created by Jean-Jacques Dubois on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 7:00 PM (Dewailly space) in the presence of the director, the mayor of Abbeville Nicolas Dumont and of the geographer Emile Flament.

  • Two conferences on "the occupied Somme", in partnership with the Historial de la Grande Guerre de Péronne, conducted by historians Gerd Krumeich and Philippe Nivet on Friday 21 October 2016 at 19:00 (Hôtel des Feuillants). Free entry subject to availability.
  • A "cinema cycle" from Wednesday, 19 October 2016 to Tuesday, 25 October 2016 at the Maison de la culture d'Amiens dedicated to the memory of the Occupation. Paid screening-debate on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 19:00. Free conference on the theme of the screening on Saturday, October 22, 2016 (Orson Welles cinema).
