The adventures of Erika and Klaus Mann (the children of the writer Thomas Mann), seen through archival footage, filmed performances by Erika Mann, staged performances of Klaus Mann’s works and anecdotes from their relatives. From the Roaring Twenties and the first writings to the rise of Nazism and their exile, including the creation of the cabaret Die Pfefferffermühle (The Pepper Mill), this documentary is a captivating tribute to Thomas Mann’s "enfants terribles".
